Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Verna Labs (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the verna.one website and the free tools hosted on it (the “Site”). VernaOne is a Verna Labs product. The VernaOne web application, API, and desktop app collect and process data under their own in-product notices; this policy covers the marketing Site.

1. The short version

  • The Site does not require an account, and we do not ask for personal information to browse it.
  • Our free browser tools (e.g. the Prompt Portability Linter) run entirely in your browser. Anything you paste into them stays on your device and is never sent to us.
  • We use analytics only if you accept cookies, and it is configured to be privacy-friendly (IP anonymized).
  • You can accept or reject non-essential cookies at any time via the cookie banner.

2. Information we process

Information you actively provide

The Site has no sign-up, contact form, or payment on it, so we do not collect names, emails, or payment details through it. If you email us, we process your message to respond.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate, anonymized usage — which pages and tools are useful. IP anonymization is enabled and we do not use it to identify you. If you reject or ignore the banner, analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

Functional storage

We store two values in your browser’s local storage: your light/dark theme preference and your cookie choice. These are strictly functional, are not used for tracking, and never leave your device.

Server & CDN logs

The Site is served through Amazon CloudFront and S3. Our infrastructure may log standard technical data (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and delivery. These logs are retained for a short period (up to 90 days) and are not used to build user profiles.

3. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for analytics and any non-essential cookies.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for security logging and keeping the Site running.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We rely on a small set of processors to run the Site: Amazon Web Services (hosting/CDN, EU region eu-west-1) and, only when analytics is enabled and you consent, Google (Google Analytics). Where data is transferred internationally, it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

5. Retention

Server/CDN logs: up to 90 days. Analytics data: retained per our Google Analytics configuration in aggregate/anonymized form. Functional storage persists in your browser until you clear it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA) you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, email privacy@vernalabs.com. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using the cookie banner or by clearing your cookie choice.

7. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here.
